Tow truck in Menlo Park, Edison: mall decks, hotel rows on Route 1, and the truck that fits under a low ceiling
The northeast corner of the township and the first section our trucks reach. Menlo Park Mall's covered decks and open lots, the hotels and showrooms along Route 1 at Parsonage Road, the Thomas Edison tower on Christie Street, and the loop roads of Roosevelt Park.
Low decks, packed hotel rows and Route 1 jughandles: how the truck reaches a car in Menlo Park
Menlo Park is wheel-lift country first, because the mall's covered decks and the hotel rows on Route 1 leave no room for a rollback to lay its deck down, so the driver hooks the car, walks it out to open pavement and either tows it from there or hands it to the rollback waiting at the exit, at the same $149 booking fee, $129 when you book online.
Menlo Park Mall: the decks and the open lots
The open lots load either truck on the spot. Inside the decks the clearance bars stop a rollback at the entrance, so the wheel-lift goes in, lifts the car and brings it down the ramp to daylight.
An all-wheel-drive car then transfers to the deck outside in a couple of minutes. Say which entrance, which level and roughly which row.
The hotel rows on Route 1 at Parsonage Road
Cars parked nose to tail for a week while their owners are at a conference or the airport. A dead battery after five days is a jump at one flat price, and a car that has to move rides whichever truck the drivetrain calls for.
The driver can work from a key left at the desk, with photos before and after and the receipt sent to your inbox.
Christie Street, Lincoln Highway and the tower
The streets around the Thomas Edison Center are residential and narrow, with parking on one side and the occasional tour bus on the other. The rollback loads where the street opens out, and the driver phones ahead so a neighbor's car can be moved if the driveway is short.
Roosevelt Park and the Route 1 jughandles
The park's loop road and its lots are open-air, so any truck loads there, and the grass beside the lake is where cars go in the rain. A winch pulls them straight back.
On Route 1 itself the jughandles at Parsonage Road and the mall lights fill with stalled cars at rush hour, and the wheel-lift clears them in minutes.
Stuck in a deck or a hotel row in Menlo Park? Say the level or the lot. The wheel-lift walks it out.

Call nowMenlo Park: common questions
Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
How fast can a tow truck reach Menlo Park?
Menlo Park is the closest part of Edison to our Linden yard, straight down Route 1 or off the Parkway at Exit 131. The dispatcher quotes a window from the nearest truck's real position, which is often already on Route 1.
Can a tow truck get into the Menlo Park Mall parking deck?
The wheel-lift can. The rollback waits outside because of the clearance bars, the wheel-lift brings the car down the ramp, and if the car is all-wheel drive or electric it transfers to the deck at the exit.
My car has sat in a Route 1 hotel lot for a week and will not start. What do you send?
A jump, one flat price, no miles. When the battery refuses to hold, the tow is added at the flat rate while the truck is still there, on whichever truck the drivetrain needs.
Is a tow from Menlo Park to a shop in Iselin or Metuchen a long run?
No. Either is a couple of miles and the tow is the booking fee plus those miles, quoted on the call.
